PICTIONARY ON CANVA

Image
In our project there are four topics which are "Countries, jobs, clothes, food and drinks". And our students were supposed to learn 20 words from each topic. At the end of our project The Turkish and Romanian students created an online pictionary regarding these words on Canva. We created mixed country teams for that. Each team took care of one topic. This pictionary which is our final product will be in our ebook. Here is the pictionary in video

The Turkish and Romanian students were supposed to write an acrostic poem together. The initials of the lines form our project slogan. We created mixed country teams for that. Each team were responsible for a verse. Here are my students who wrote their lines in the poem. They did their best. I am so proud of them :)

My students created slogans in groups. Whenever it was necessary, they got help from me or used an online dictionary but they did most of the work. First my students wrote the slogans they created on the board then they voted for their favorite one. Here is the process and our slogan for the competition

FERENCZI ERIKS, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA We also learned to use wordarts to recap words learned throughout the project. It's fun and educational at the same time. This activity also helped to develop the students' digital skills. And here are the wordarts my students created. There are two of each in this video: countries, jobs, clothes, food and drinks...
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA Finally we finished all the flashcards. They were sent by mail to our partners, together with a short letter. Our partners' flashcards had also arrived and we were very happy. We also got two very beautiful cards from Istanbul, where our friends are from.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA We've started making the flashcards at the beginning of our project, somewhere in December. The first ones  were for the first topic: countries. The flags were coloured by my students. We still got a lot of work to do with the other topics, though... And here we are, colouring the flashcards (all of them). It was a hard but fun work.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA My students are curious which poster was the winner. In order to find out, they have to recreate it by doing the puzzle that our Turkish friends have sent. They used their phones to recreate the project poster. They worked either individually or in small groups.

FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA My students always enjoy games in class. One of the games used in a vocabulary revision lesson is the one created by our Turkish partners about food and drinks vocabulary. It's genuine excitement you can hear in their voices while playing the game. One thing is sure: at their age games, especially competitive ones, really motivate them to learn.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA We always learn something new. This time we've learned to play (and make) wordle games. My students played the game at home after I explained them in class how to play. They sent screenshots with the results. Of course many of them played the game multiple times so that in the end the screenshots showed that they guessed the word very quickly. Some may call it cheating... I call it... learning... In the picture collage above you can see some of the screenshots they've sent.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA My students are playing the kahoot game that their Turkish partners made. You can hear the excitement in their voice as they compete to win the highest score.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA Unfortunately we didn't record the process of making the slogan, because the task was fulfilled at home, but this is the slogan we came up with for the project.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA My students played the game about coutries sent by their Turkish partners on liveworksheets on their phone and sent me screenshots like these ones. Apart from the online games we decided upon for the project, my students created some more traditional worksheeet games (crosswords, wordearches, missing letters etc.) They enjoyed creating them.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA Here are our two chosen logos for the project. They were made in canva by the students. Again, they made several logos, then they chose the two that will represent us and get into the final voting.

FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA    Here's our project bulletin board. Each word category was illustrated by the flashcards my students made for each word. Obviously, we scanned them and made them smaller in order to fit as many as we could on the board. Now the board will help my students revise the words whenever they need.
Image
FERENCZI ERIKA, "MIHAI EMINESCU" SCHOOL, DEJ, ROMANIA   Before starting the project, it was very important that the students introduce themselves to their partners. We chose to do this by recording each student's self introduction and combine them into a single video.
